Diners Whose Restaurant Visits Changed the Way We Think About Food

Many restaurants try hard to make a strong impression on their customers. Some focus on unique decorations, while others pay attention to making delicious dishes. A few places even amaze the most experienced food lovers.

The Story:
It’s a good idea to look for a restaurant away from tourist spots.

My husband and I walked into a small family restaurant in Italy. We weren’t very hungry, so we ordered a salad, pizza, and a meat plate for two. We noticed the waiters staring at us in wonder, and even the chef came to see us. We felt a bit embarrassed. Then the mystery was explained.

When they brought us our food, we found out that the portions were huge! The salad was served in something that looked like a basin, the pizza was as big as a car wheel, and the meat plate was massive. I gave up eating quickly, but my husband decided to finish everything. He worked on the meat plate for an hour, and even the chef came out again to watch him. As a reward for my husband’s effort, the chef gave us dessert. That’s when we almost exploded!
