Robert De Niro Calls Trump a “Clown” and Criticizes His Presidential Intentions
Robert De Niro slammed Donald Trump as a “clown,” questioning his motives for running for the White House.
In an episode of Max’s “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” released Friday, De Niro said, “I never wanted anything to do with him. He’s a jerk. He’s an idiot. Who wants to meet a clown like that?”
De Niro criticized Trump’s lack of sensitivity to national issues. “We need someone who is sensitive to the country’s needs,” the actor said, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris. “She’ll make mistakes, but she has the right intentions. Trump does not.”
The actor has been a vocal critic of Trump, narrating a campaign ad for President Biden in May that labeled Trump as “unhinged” and “power-hungry.”
Trump has countered De Niro’s remarks, calling him a “wacko.” When asked if Trump might refuse to concede if he loses in November, De Niro responded, “You know he won’t.” He added, “Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves.”
