MOSINEE, Wis. — Former President Donald Trump, who frequently claims that the 2020 election was stolen through widespread fraud, has issued a warning about the 2024 race. In a post on Truth Social, Trump vowed to seek imprisonment for anyone involved in “unscrupulous behavior” during the election process, repeating his allegations of Democratic cheating.
Trump’s threat, which he claimed would lead to severe legal consequences including long prison sentences, targets not just individuals but also lawyers, political operatives, donors, illegal voters, and corrupt election officials. This is one of his broadest threats yet, extending beyond personal vendettas to include a wide range of potential targets.
Election workers, such as Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, who faced threats and harassment after the 2020 election due to false fraud claims, are among those affected by such rhetoric.
