Keanu Reeves, beloved by many and admired for his kindness, recently shared some troubling news that has touched the hearts of his fans. Known for his roles in action films like “The Matrix” and the “John Wick” series, Keanu revealed an unexpected injury he sustained while working on his latest project, “Good Fortune.”
On “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the 59-year-old actor recounted how he broke his kneecap in an accident. Despite his tough-guy persona, he explained that it wasn’t a dramatic stunt that caused the injury but a simple mishap.
Colbert asked, “What happened? Who got to you?” to which Keanu responded with a touch of humor, “No one got to me—an accident got to me.”
When Stephen probed further, asking if he had been involved in some daring stunt, Keanu revealed the incident in a more down-to-earth manner. He explained that while filming a scene for “Good Fortune,” which stars Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen, he was doing a playful “cold shuffle” after a cold plunge. His foot got caught in a pocket of the protective carpet, causing his knee to buckle and crack.
Keanu demonstrated the mishap with a lighthearted touch, showing how his knee gave way and cracked “like a potato chip.” Despite the pain, he joked, “Comedy is hard, man,” lightening the mood.
Stephen clarified that this wasn’t part of an action film, to which Keanu confirmed with a smile, “No, it was comedy.”
Fans had seen Keanu using crutches and an ice pack on his knee in January, and this heartfelt story only deepens the sympathy and concern from his admirers.
