The City of Warren police are probing the death of an inmate at Warren County Jail. According to Warren County Jail Warden Rusty Barr, an inmate was discovered unresponsive on Saturday just before 11 p.m. Staff at the facility quickly administered medical aid until the Warren City Fire Department and EmergyCare arrived and continued the efforts.
City of Warren Police Chief Joe Sproveri reported that his department was called to the jail at 10:57 p.m. due to a cardiac arrest. When they arrived, they found Joseph Patrick Dorsey Jr., a 30-year-old inmate, unresponsive. Despite attempts to revive him, Dorsey was declared dead at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with police waiting for pathology reports. Chief Sproveri noted that Dorsey was in an isolation cell at the time and that no foul play is suspected.
